Is 8 billion more money then what internet costs to expand each year to rural locations?

is 8 billion alot compared to what money is spent bringing broadband to rural locations each year? Obama is going to spend 8 billion to bring broadband to rural locations.

It gets expensive in wide spread areas. It's also expensive to support. I couldn't give you an exact figure, but it's up there.
Reply:In locations that have no infrastructure for broadband, yes it's very expensive to lay down new fiber lines or coaxial lines.

Big telcos won't do it, it's too cost prohibitive.
