Does an extra internet connection cost money?

I have RoadRunner internet (which comes through a cable line cable, feeds through a Motorola modem, through another cable, and into my computer) (as in not dial-up) and I was wondering if recieving internet through another cable outlet would cost anything extra. I want to get internet in a different room on a new desktop if I bought one and I would rather have that over slighty slower wifi and I figured another modem would cost extra but I didn't think it would to get internet from two different outlet sources. Am I wrong?

Reply:1) Any wireless router is much faster than your internet connection.

2) If they have to come out and wire up another outlet, they're going to charge you for labor (expensive) and materials. But they won't charge you per month for the connection.

3) You can't connect 2 modems to the same cable - neither one will get an internet connection. One cable, one modem, but up to 253 computers (through a router). Or you can move the modem from one outlet to the other, as you need.
Reply:you don't have to sign up for another account from your isp..all you need to do is to buy a wireless router, a linksys router perhaps..hehehe..i believe roadrunner cable validates your account and grants internet access through the mac address of the pc you registered to them so you can just configure the router by cloning the mac address of your pc...then you can connect more computers and configure the wireless settings of the router to connect wireless computers, too! you'll have internet with all your computers for sure! hope this helps..:)
Reply:Ask your Internet Service Provider (ISP). It varies. If choosing a different provider, it will cost, naturally.
