Has anyone ever made any money on the internet from these "start earning now" kind of mails or websites?

There are millions of websites and thousands of Yahoo Groups offering you instant cash from the minute you say "GO" - How true they are and is it that easy for an individual to just start making money. What is the best possible solution to start earning on the internet, cause i believe there are no shortcuts in life.
